EBHS star Billingsley to play in All-Star Week

Edward Bell High School women’s basketball stand out Kierra Billingsley has been named to the 2011 Alabama All-Star Week next week in Montgomery.

Billingsley, a 5-foot-6 guard for the Lady Bears, was selected tot the South team where she will compete against some of the best women’s basketball talent in Alabama.

“I look forward to going out there and working hard, playing hard and giving it my best,” Billingsley said.

The 2010-2011 season marked the final for Edward Bell, which is closing it’s doors, as Billingsley and her teammates will transfer to Dadeville High School and be coached under former EBHS boys basketball head coach Mitch Joiner.

“We’ve got some adjustments to make when it comes to merging the teams,” Joiner said. “But, I look forward to having a great and successful season and I’m very proud of Kierra for being named to the All-Star Week.”

Billingsley and the South team will take on the North team  Wednesday, July 13 at 6 p.m. at the Alabama State University Acodome.
