Daviston reunion enjoyed

Published 7:48pm Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Sympathy is extended to the family of a dear lady, the late Jackie Meadows Storey. She is now with her Lord and free from pain. Everyone loved Jackie Storey. Her loving husband, Billy Storey, stood by his wife always. Their son, Wesley Storey, did also. Now Jackie can be in heaven. She is our loss and God’s gain. God bless the wonderful Storey family!

Daviston’s school reunion was enjoyed on Saturday at the community center by a big crowd. Bryan and I attended it and enjoyed seeing friends.

Mayor Tim East welcomed everyone, and the music was great, and Lydia East introduced by music each group of people who participated in the different branches of service for the Veteran’s Day part.

Eddie Joe Burton was the emcee for the program and Koon’s Corner did the delicious meal for everyone.

A huge sign was placed in front of the community center and dedicated to the Davistonians. It has impressive and wonderful information. Daviston is a wonderful town whose people love and support it! I married Bryan Yates, a Davistonian, so I know how Daviston is.

Sympathy is sent to the Annie Ruth Simpson family. She was a great lady and the sister of Curtis Clark.

Kent and Deloris Riddle celebrated their wedding anniversary last week. They are an ideal couple.

Happy birthdays to Sanford Meadows, Toby Hanson, Bro. Richard Hall and Syble Hanson.

Picking and Grinning with Leon McCain’s Kountry Kritters on Saturday night was great. Come and join us any Saturday at the New Site Senior Center.

Keep Bud Sharpe who had surgery by dr. Bob at East Alabama Regional Medical Center in Opelika on Friday. Dr. Bob scoped Bud’s leg. Keep him in your prayers plus Wayne Cotney, Bennie Lee Yates, Leonard Riley and anyone else who needs prayers.

Count your blessings daily and live one day at a time.God is so good!
