Seth Johnston hit a two-out, bases loaded double off the wall Saturday to help the Benjamin Russell baseball team overcome a 5-4 deficit in the seventh inning to defeat Beauregard 6-5 in Alexander City.

The Wildcats lost Saturday morning in the opening game of the doubleheader to Mountain Brook 5-1.

The BRHS softball team was eliminated from the Auburn Spring Fling after falling to Hoover 12-0. The Lady Wildcats beat Beuargeard 12-4, lost to Sparkman 6-0 and lost to Smiths Station 3-2 in their other games.

Also on Saturday, Thompson defeated both the BRHS boys and girls soccer teams.

The Central Alabama baseball team split with Southern Union to win the series two games to one. CACC won the first game 3-2 in 13 innings and dropped game two 8-4. The CACC softball team split with Northwest Florida State.

The Dadeville baseball team defeated Wicksburg 5-2 and Headland 12-2.
