Huddle House has record sales in first months

Huddle House is doing great in Alexander City according to the owners, Daniel Yates and Lynn Patterson, as well as the national chain.

The restaurant opened Oct. 4, 2004 at its U.S. Highway 280 location.

“We broke all kinds of Huddle House sales records when we first opened,” Yates said. “Even now we have consistent sales on a weekly basis.”

He said that consistency was due to the great community support that they have and continue to receive. Yates added that the corporate headquarters thinks they have a great franchise in Alexander City.

Susan Foy, executive director of the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce, congratulated Yates and Patterson for reaching those goals. She said Alexander City rallies behind new businesses and this proves it.

“Breaking sales records seems very significant for the Huddle House in Alexander City because there are Huddle Houses all across America,” Foy said. “It is a very good sign that this community can support Huddle House and additional businesses.”

Yates said they decided to bring Huddle House to the Lake Martin community because they knew there was a need for restaurants here. He and Patterson felt like Huddle House was a good place to start. The Huddle House is trying to change its image to become a more family-oriented restaurant.

“We were hoping that if people saw how well the Huddle House did here then more new business might come to this community,” Yates said.

Foy said the chamber is proud of the Huddle House. It offers a convenient location and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
