Rockford clinic to relocate

Russell Medical Center announced Friday it would be closing the Medical Park Family Care Rockford effective Nov. 6, however, RMC is already looking to re-locate the facility.
“Our first priority is to ensure that the residents of Rockford and surrounding Coosa County communities experience no interruptions in their ability to receive quality medical care,” said Frank Harris, president and CEO of Russell Medical Center.
Russell Medical Center is looking into relocating the clinic next to the Coosa County Health Department and decided to close the Jackson Street location to accommodate recent changes in operations.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to provide solutions for streamlining our operations and raising the standard of health care for the communities we serve,” Harris said.
Medical Park Family Care Rockford, a family practice clinic, has been a valuable healthcare resource in the Rockford community since July of 2004.
With the closing announcement, also came the news of Dr. Randall Weaver departure who has opted to pursue other opportunities.
A search is already under way for a new physician and until such a replacement is named, officials at Russell Medical Center have solidified their commitment to facilitate a smooth transition by forming a cooperative with the Coosa County Arise program.
The two groups will work to safely transport displaced patients to and from Russell Medical Center’s main campus to receive care.
Weaver will be available until Tuesday, November 6, 2004 and will see patients several days per week during this time period.
